Gold & Co. has new image, still best place to buy and sell gold
For most of human history, gold has had positive associations. Someone kind has a heart of gold. People look forward to their golden years. Things of value are held to a gold standard. At Gold & Co., we want to keep that positive association going, which is why we’ve recently undergone an image makeover.
The biggest change is our name. Many of our locations have upgraded from The Gold Rush Store brand to Gold & Co., and we want customers to think of us for everything from buying a Mother’s Day present to, yes, selling their excess gold for cash. We are even in the process of finalizing our jewelry repairs division.
Why are we doing this? Because we’re in it for the long haul. Because we want to be here 20 years from now. We know there will be market fluctuations, but we also know this business is sustainable in any economy if we treat our customers right. We’re diversifying our service offerings so that we are not dependent on any one division of the business.
We also want to overcome the stigma of what a stereotypical “cash-for-gold” store is.
In our previous incarnation as The Gold Rush Store brand, many probably saw our commercials featuring a little dog and a Johnny Depp-style pirate. But when we thought about how we wanted our customers to perceive us, we realized we were not painting the full picture of who we are and what we offer as a brand. We’re not a back-alley pawnshop. We don’t trade in dusty, dimly lit stores. We don’t automatically melt down every bit of gold and silver that comes through our doors for quick cash. We work closely with our own refinery, so we can ensure we truly pay the most by avoiding the middleman.
We offer our customers a pleasant experience in a store with the feel of an upscale jeweler. For the buyer, we feature unique merchandise and designer jewelry at a substantial discount — think 50% or more off retail prices. Quality is assured because we have a GIA-certified gemologist on staff who confirms our jewels are what they appear to be. We won’t buy diamonds that come without authentic certification or that we cannot authenticate ourselves. For the seller, we provide a trusted outlet for your needs, from broken jewelry to coins to silverware. We keep up with current commodity prices in real time, and we even have a 110% Price Match Guarantee program.
